The weekly review that actually raises your score
Most students review by re-reading. Scores move when you review mistakes. Here is a simple weekly routine.
1. Log every mistake (10 min)
For each wrong or skipped question from the week, write one line: chapter, and the cause.
- Concept gap: you didn’t know the idea.
- Recall gap: you knew it, but couldn’t retrieve it.
- Silly error: sign, unit or misread.
- Time pressure: you ran out of time.
2. Count the causes (5 min)
Tally the four categories. The biggest bucket is your real problem, and it usually isn’t the one you assumed.
3. Assign one fix per bucket (15 min)
- Concept gap → relearn the chapter section, then do 10 fresh questions.
- Recall gap → spaced revision cards for that chapter.
- Silly errors → a personal checklist you read before every test.
- Time pressure → timed sets, skipping hard questions on purpose.
4. Schedule it (15 min)
Put the fixes into next week’s calendar before you close the notebook. A fix that isn’t scheduled doesn’t happen.
