Taking a drop is a huge decision, and it can be confusing, on what exactly to prepare for, because you have no idea weather or not you are going on the right path, do you focus on doing the best theory, do you put all your energy into questions? It is truly all a mystery, and the worst and most scary part is that you only have this as a final attempt, it is truly your final chance and you cannot mess things up.

Studying Theory
Many droppers fall into the fatal trap of studying theory all over again, starting from scratch, trying to learn every chapter in the best way possible, watching every lecture from start to end, making notes again, because you think "My theory and foundation wasn't that strong which is why I couldn't clear the exam". This is your biggest misconception, ofcourse there can be a lack of theoretical understanding in a few cases, but mostly it is the lack of question solving ability which causes your downfall and not your theoretical understanding
If there are parts of the theory you have identified that are weak in your case, then find specific videos or parts of lectures that target those specific portions of theory, do not start studying the entire lecture series of that chapter just so that you can cover up that one mistake, there is a huge trap during your JEE preparation, to just keep watching lectures in the name of "Being Productive" but everyone knows that in most cases it is just a waste of time, especially when you are a dropper and have studied everything at a decent level before.
Strategy for Droppers
The main thing you need to do, is supercharge your question solving ability, whatever time you were going to spend on watching lectures, spend that instead reading and watching solved examples, look at how experienced people are approaching the question, the steps they write, the way in which they think, the things that they note down, and how they slowly arrive at the conclusion. This way you will slowly develop the pattern recognition ability which is needed in order for you to glance at a question and quickly dismantle the exact strategy using which you can solve it.
How often should you give tests as a dropper?
Tests are the most important part of your preparation; they will not only help you practice the actual exam temperament, but they will also ensure that you figure out your weaknesses. The best time to find out the weak points in your armour, is when it is tested in battle. Give constant tests and keep figuring out the mistakes that you make on a repeated basis, because these mistakes are the weaknesses in your armour that could lead to a fatal error in the final battle
In the final battle, you have to remember that every question you get wrong, or every silly mistake you make will cost you heavily, 1 single question can create a difference in rank of 1000s (In case you are in the top 2000 then this difference is smaller, but if you are in the rank range of 10k-20k then this is a difference of 1000s in rank) and you also know that these 2 or 3 questions can be the difference between qualification and failure. Now talking about frequency, you should give tests atleast 2 times a month, one mains test, and one JEE Advanced test. To attempt these tests you can either use your coachings test series or you can subscribe to the JEEcompass mentorship and along with tests you will receive test analysis guidance, mentorship, weekly webinars and so much more.
So use frequest tests to identify-
Chapters in which you have weakness
Topics you make mistakes in frequently
Concepts which you have misunderstood/not understood
Areas where you need more speed
Areas where you need more accuracy
Areas where you need better retention of all formulas
Follow these steps with perfection and your drop year will go in a much better direction than most, any further doubts then you can ofcourse write a comment, and also make sure to sign up for the master webinar if you haven't already, life changing advice is awaiting you on the other side, that will take your preparation from 0 to 100.
